Fair Lawn Driving School Team
Fair Lawn Driving School was established in 1959 by Joseph Lomonico, the former Director of Driver Education at Fair Lawn High School. Joseph took his experience and skills from the classroom to the road, teaching students to become safe and competent drivers. Later, his son Neil, a licensed driving instructor since 1979 and a NJ Law Enforcement Officer, took over for his father. Neil combined his knowledge of driver and traffic safety with his father’s passion and expertise in teaching.
In February 2022, Nick and Kristen Nobre took over the Fair Lawn Driving School from the Lomonico Family. Growing up Neil served as a mentor to Nick at a young age, so transitioning the Fair Lawn Driving School to Nick was like “keeping it in the family”.
Nick followed in Neil’s footsteps and also became a NJ Law Enforcement Officer and eventually a Certified Driving Instructor. Nick learned a lot from Neil about the Fair Lawn Driving School, instructing techniques and good education practice, which made for an easy transition.
Meet the Team
Nicholas "Nick" Nobre
Chief Instructor | Owner
Nick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is a certified NJ Supervising Driving Instructor. He also completed the Drivers Education program at William Paterson University.
A proud lifelong resident of Fair Lawn, Nick has dedicated years to volunteering with local emergency services, showcasing his commitment to the community. Passionate about education, he takes pride in helping students become safe and confident drivers, emphasizing the importance of road safety for everyone. Watching a student pass their road test is especially rewarding, often reminding him of his own experiences as a 17-year-old.
In his free time, Nick enjoys spending quality time with his family, exploring new restaurants, traveling to new destinations, and tending to his thriving vegetable garden.
Kristen Nobre
Chief Instructor | Owner
Kristen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health from Montclair State University and earned her instructor certification in Driver Education from William Paterson University.
With over ten years of experience teaching Driver Education and Physical Education at the high school level, Kristen also completed her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Seton Hall University.
She finds immense joy in helping students pass their Knowledge Test, knowing she’s guiding them toward becoming safe and responsible drivers.
Outside of teaching, Kristen loves spending time with her family, their dog, and friends, and she enjoys relaxing with a good book during her downtime.
Dave E.
Driving Instructor
Dave is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with over two years of experience teaching behind the wheel. He finds joy in guiding students on their journey to becoming confident, accomplished drivers.
Understanding that learning to drive can be both exciting and nerve-wracking, Dave recalls a student who was so nervous she shook before her test but ended up acing it. Outside of work, Dave enjoys riding motorcycles, spending time with dogs, and dining out. He’s also a fan of high school lacrosse and cheers passionately for the Rangers.
Fred D.
Driving Instructor
Fred D., as he’s known, is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with over eight years of behind-the-wheel teaching experience. A retired coast-to-coast tractor-trailer driver, Fred brings a wealth of road knowledge to his students.
A passionate sports fan, he follows NASCAR and cheers for the NY Giants, Yankees, Devils, and Providence College Basketball. He also enjoys oldies and country music and treasures time with his grandchildren, who are his greatest pride. Fred is dedicated to helping his students become safe, confident drivers through his experience and patient teaching style.
George C.
Driving Instructor
George is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with seven years of experience. Known for his patience, communication skills, and ability to put students at ease, George has helped many become confident drivers.
He once worked closely with a new driver with learning disabilities, partnering with the student and parents to find the best approach. Through persistence and encouragement, the student gained confidence and passed the road test, a proud moment for all. In his free time, George enjoys auto repair, woodworking, and gardening.
Jay L.
Driving Instructor
Jay is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2023. A certified Athletic Trainer at the high school level, Jay has a natural ability to teach and connect with his students. He became inspired to be a driving instructor while teaching his son to drive during the permit process, finding joy in helping others develop such an important skill.
In his free time when he’s not behind-the-wheel, Jay enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and boating. A passionate sports fan, he loves watching various sports and appreciates spending time outdoors. Jay is dedicated to guiding his students toward becoming safe, confident drivers.
Joe Q.
Driving Instructor
Joe, also known as “Skip,” is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School. A retired law enforcement officer, he brings a wealth of experience and patience to his role as a driving instructor. Currently also working as a school security officer, Joe is committed to safety both in schools and on the road. A second-degree black belt, Joe trains regularly in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and enjoys staying active.
Outside of work, he loves listening to old-school rock music and spending quality time with his two children. Joe’s own experience with the driving instructor test helps him relate to his students’ anxieties and guide them toward confidence and success.
John I.
Driving Instructor
John I. is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with the unique distinction of having taught three generations of drivers in one family—grandfather, father, and son. With years of experience, John takes pride in helping his students become confident and capable drivers. Known for his approachable and supportive teaching style, he creates a positive learning environment for all.
In his free time, John enjoys bicycling, swimming, and playing soccer. A passionate sports fan, he cheers enthusiastically for Team Barcelona and the Phillies. John’s dedication to his students and love for teaching make him a valued member of the team.
Jenn R.
Driving Instructor
Jenn is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with a background in driver’s education since 2014 and behind-the-wheel instruction since 2019. As an elementary physical education teacher, she also enjoys coaching, running, being creative, and relaxing at the beach.
In her spare time, Jenn loves watching the NJ Devils, indulging in pizza and ice cream, and listening to Taylor Swift. Inspired by her enjoyment of teaching driver’s education, Jenn became a driving instructor to promote safety on the road. She is committed to teaching proper techniques to help create safer roadways for everyone.
Mark S.
Driving Instructor
Mark is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with over 35 years of experience teaching driver training to Fire, Police, and EMT departments. Now retired, Mark brings his extensive knowledge and passion for safety to new drivers. He thrives on helping students build confidence and loves witnessing their “aha moments” behind the wheel.
Outside of teaching, Mark enjoys cheering for the NY Giants. A food enthusiast, he appreciates good BBQ, Mexican, sushi, and just about any Asian food. Mark is dedicated to sharing his expertise to help create safer roadways for everyone.
BethAnn I.
Driving Instructor
BethAnn is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s newest certified driving instructors, recently earning her certification after a successful career as a contract manager. She is excited to bring her enthusiasm and dedication to teaching teens how to become confident, skilled drivers.
When asked why she chose this path, BethAnn shared, “The idea of teaching new drivers to be the best they can be is an exciting new chapter!” Outside of her work with students, BethAnn loves playing golf and spending time on the water boating. She looks forward to helping create a new generation of safe and responsible drivers.
Nava R.
Driving Instructor
Nava is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who transitioned to this role in 2015 after a successful career as a school teacher. Her teaching experience and welcoming personality made her a natural fit for helping students become confident, defensive drivers. Since then, Nava has dedicated herself to guiding her students toward safe driving practices.
Outside of teaching, Nava loves designing and creating, with interior design as one of her favorite hobbies. She also enjoys cooking Asian and Middle Eastern dishes in her newly renovated kitchen, which she proudly designed herself.
Paulina P.
Driving Instructor
Paulina is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with four years of experience in driver education. She loves helping students transform from feeling hesitant about driving to confidently enjoying their time behind the wheel. Seeing a student smile after six hours of instruction is one of her greatest rewards.
Outside of teaching, Paulina enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and hiking. She’s also a fan of techno music and delights in exploring a variety of cuisines, including Thai, Indian, and Polish foods. Paulina is passionate about creating a positive and supportive learning experience for her students.
Robert B.
Driving Instructor
Robert, affectionately known as “Benji,” is a certified driving instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School with 15 years of teaching experience, including eight years behind-the-wheel. Passionate about helping students learn safety and confidence on the road, Benji brings patience and expertise to every lesson.
A fan of most sports, he also enjoys indulging in pizza and listening to music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. When asked about his most memorable moment as an instructor, Benji recalls the unforgettable experience of narrowly avoiding a 500-pound black bear during a lesson!
Brian T
Driving Instructor
Brian is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2023. Passionate about helping people learn new skills, Brian finds joy in guiding students to become confident drivers. In his free time, he loves being on the water, enjoying activities like boating, waterskiing, fishing, and swimming.
As an avid football enthusiast, Brian proudly cheers for the Green Bay Packers. He’s also a fan of Chinese food and listens to hair metal music. Dedicated and approachable, Brian brings his enthusiasm and supportive teaching style to every driving lesson with every single student.

Driving Instructor
Scott is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2022. Passionate about helping students build confidence and skills behind the wheel, Scott is dedicated to ensuring his lessons are both engaging and informative. His goal is to empower every student to become a safe and capable driver.
In his free time, Scott enjoys watching football and spending winter days skiing. A foodie at heart, he can’t resist a good chicken parmesan. With a patient and encouraging teaching style, Scott is committed to guiding his students toward driving success.
Tito C
Driving Instructor
Tito is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2023. Passionate about teaching, Tito enjoys helping students gain confidence behind the wheel while promoting safe driving habits to make the roads safer for everyone.
In his free time, Tito is an avid fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He also loves eating Asian and Spanish-style cuisine and enjoys hobbies like listening to music, playing golf and softball, and spending quality time with his grandkids. Tito brings enthusiasm and patience to every lesson, helping students achieve driving success.

Driving Instructor
Brian, known by the nickname “JR,” is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2023. As a Physical Education Teacher, Brian is passionate about teaching and guiding others. He became a driving instructor to help students confidently and safely navigate the roadways.
In his free time, Brian enjoys watching and coaching football, cheering for the Denver Broncos, Boston Red Sox, and LA Lakers. A fan of hibachi cuisine, he also listens to a wide variety of music. Brian’s approachable and patient nature makes him a supportive and effective instructor for his students.
Jaclyn N
Driving Instructor
Jacklyn is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2023. A High School Chemistry Teacher, she brings her love of teaching to her role as a driving instructor. Jacklyn enjoys helping others achieve important milestones, like becoming safe and confident drivers.
In her free time, she loves hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with her family. A passionate sports fan, she cheers for the Giants, Knicks, and Devils, with a special love for basketball, hockey, and football. Jacklyn’s approachable nature makes her a valuable guide for her students behind the wheel.
Mart M
Driving Instructor
Mart is a certified instructor at Fair Lawn Driving School who joined the team in 2023. In addition to his role here, he is also a medical instructor and college professor, bringing a wealth of teaching experience to his students.
Mart loves spending time with his family, playing the drums, and traveling. An avid basketball fan, he also enjoys Italian cuisine and listens to a wide variety of music. Passionate about teaching, Mart has always enjoyed helping family and friends learn to drive. Now, he is dedicated to guiding new drivers in mastering proper techniques to ensure safety on the road.
