Fair Lawn Driving School Team
Fair Lawn Driving School was established in 1959 by Joseph Lomonico, the former Director of Driver Education at Fair Lawn High School. Joseph took his experience and skills from the classroom to the road, teaching students to become safe and competent drivers. Later, his son Neil, a licensed driving instructor since 1979 and a NJ Law Enforcement Officers, took over for his father. Neil combined his knowledge of driver and traffic safety with his father’s passion and expertise in teaching.
In February 2022, Nick and Kristen Nobre took over the Fair Lawn Driving School from the Lomonico Family. Growing up Neil served as a mentor to Nick at a young age, so transitioning the Fair Lawn Driving School to Nick was like “keeping it in the family”.
Nick followed in Neil’s footsteps and also became a NJ Law Enforcement Officer and eventually a Certified Driving Instructor. Nick learned a lot from Neil about the Fair Lawn Driving School, instructing techniques and good education practice, which made for an easy transition.
Meet the Team
Nicholas "Nick" Nobre
Chief Instructor | Owner
Nick holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a NJ Supervising Driving Instructor and has completed the Drivers Education program from William Paterson University.
Additionally, Nick has been a lifelong Fair Lawn resident and a volunteer for the local emergency services for many years. He has a passion for teaching students how to drive and takes pride in great customer service.
Nick became a driving instructor to help educate the future and make the roads a safer place for all of us. The feeling he gets is when he sees a student pass his road test…it brings him back to his 17 year old memories every single time!
Nick enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, trying new restaurants and tending to his vegetable garden.
Kristen Nobre
Chief Instructor | Owner
Kristen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Health from Montclair State University. Kristen received her instructor certification in Driver Education from William Paterson University.
Kristen has been a Physical Education / Health Teacher and has taught Drivers Education for over ten years at the high school level. Kristen completed her Master’s Degree from Seton Hall University in School Counseling.
As a Drivers Education teacher, Kristen finds it so rewarding when students pass the Knowledge Test. They’re so excited to become new drivers, and being able to teach them the material they will need to know to operate a vehicle, Kristen is helping them achieve the first step of becoming a licensed driver.
Kristen loves to spend time with the family, their dog, friends and enjoys downtime with a good book.
Dave E.
Driving Instructor
Dave is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
With over two years experience teaching behind the wheel, Dave looks forward to a different experience every day as he is a part of his students’ journeys to become accomplished drivers. He knows it can be a scary and exciting time learning to drive. He once had a student who was so nervous before her test that she was shaking, but she aced it!
When not working with his students, Dave enjoys motorcycles, dogs and dining out. You may also find his watching high school lacrosse and the Rangers.
Fred D.
Driving Instructor
Fred D., as he is known, is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Fred D. has been teaching behind the wheel for over 8 years. He’s no stranger to time behind the wheel, as a retired coast-to-coast 18-wheeler tractor-trailer driver. His love of driving doesn’t end there, he’s a fan of Nascar Auto Racing. If it’s sports, Fred D. is all in, whether it’s the NY Giants, the Yankees, the Devils or Providence College Basketball. He’s also a fan of oldies and country music, but his true love and pride are his grandchildren.
George C.
Driving Instructor
George is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
George has been a driving instructor for seven years and his ability to communicate, listen and put others at ease has helped many students become successful behind the wheel.
When George had a new driver with multiple learning disabilities, he partnered with the student and parents to find the best path to becoming a good driver. Although it took multiple attempts, with George’s patience and encouragement, the student became confident and passed his road test. Everyone was thrilled, especially the student!
In his free time, George enjoys auto repair, woodworking and gardening.
Jay L.
Driving Instructor
Jay is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Scott joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2023, in his free time he enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding and boating. Jay is a certified Athletic Trainer at the High School level and enjoys watching all different sports.
Jay became inspired to be a driving instructor while teaching his son how to drive during his permit process.
Joe Q.
Driving Instructor
Joe is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Joe, also known as Skip, retired from law enforcement and currently works as a school security officer and is happy to also be teaching behind the wheel.
A second-degree black belt, Joe trains multiple times a week in Brazilian jujitsu. He also enjoys old school rock and spending time with his two children.
Joe can relate to the worries his students face when taking their driving test, as he found taking his driving instructor test quite nerve wracking being that he hadn’t taken the test since he was 17. This helps Joe be in his students’ shoes and help them be prepared for their driving test.
John I.
Driving Instructor
John I. is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
John has the distinction of having taught three generations of drivers in one family while at the Fair Lawn Driving School! Grandpa, dad and son along with many other students have had the enjoyment of learning with John.
When not teaching, John enjoys bicycling, swimming and playing soccer.
You may also catch him watching Team Barcelona and the Phillies.
Jenn R.
Driving Instructor
Jenn is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Jenn has been teaching drivers education since 2014 and behind the wheel instruction since 2019.
Jenn is a elementary physical education teacher, she enjoys coaching, running, being creative and going to the beach.
In her spare time, she enjoys watching the NJ Devils, eating pizza, ice cream and listening to Taylor Swift.
She became a driving instructor because of the enjoyment she had teaching drivers education. Driving is something that can present unexpecting events each day. She understands how important it is for everyone to be safe on the road, by teaching the proper techniques she will help build a more safe roadway for all.
Mark S.
Driving Instructor
Mark is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
With over 35 years of experience in teaching driver training to Fire, Police and EMT departments, Mark retired and has brought his guidance to new drivers at the Fair Lawn Driving School. He enjoys the opportunity to pass on his knowledge to help create safe drivers and thrives when he sees a student have an “aha moment”.
When not instructing, Mark enjoys watching football, specifically rooting for the NY Giants, and enjoys good BBQ, Mexican, sushi…really any Asian food!
BethAnn I.
Driving Instructor
BethAnn is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s newest certified instructors.
BethAnn recently became certified as a Driving Instructor, after working in business as a contract manager for the majority of her career.
BethAnn loves to play golf, and really enjoys boating too!
When asked why she wanted to teach teens to drive, BethAnn shared, “The idea of teaching new drivers to be the best they can be, is an exciting new chapter!”
Nava R.
Driving Instructor
Nava is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Nava became a driving instructor in 2015 after being a school teacher. Nava found that her teaching experience and personality would welcome this new career. Nava has been helping students become confident defensive drivers ever since.
Nava loves to design and create things and has made interior design her hobby. She also enjoys cooking Asian and Middle Eastern foods in her newly renovated kitchen that she designed.
Paulina P.
Driving Instructor
Paulina is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Paulina has been teaching driver education for four years. She enjoys working with students and seeing them transform from being hesitant to be in a car to enjoying being behind the wheel and on the road smiling after 6 hours of working together.
When not working with her students, Paulina enjoys traveling, tennis and hiking, listening to techno and appreciating Thai, Indian and Polish foods.
Robert B.
Driving Instructor
Robert is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Robert, aka “Benji”, brings his fifteen years of teaching experience to the table, with eight years of behind the wheel training as well.
A fan of most sports, Benji also enjoys pizza and 50’s, 60’s and 70’s music.
Benji enjoys teaching his students safety behind the wheel. When asked his most memorable moment as a driving instructor, Benji noted it was almost hitting a 500 pound black bear!
Brian T
Driving Instructor
Brian is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Brian joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2023, in his free time he enjoys boating, waterskiing, fishing and swimming.
He enjoys watching football and cheers for the Green Bay Packers. Brian likes chinese food and listens to hair metal music.
Brian became a driving instructor because he enjoys helping people learn new things.

Driving Instructor
Scott is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Scott joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2022, in his free time he enjoys watching football and skiing. His favorite food is chicken parmesan.
His goal is to help teach people how to drive
Tito C
Driving Instructor
Tito is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors.
Tito joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2023, in his free time he enjoys watching the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.
He enjoys eating Asian & Spanish style food. His hobbies are listening to music, spending time with his grandkids, playing golf and softball.
Tito enjoys teaching students how to drive and wants to help make the roads a safer place for everyone.
Brian W
Driving Instructor
Brian is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors and goes by the nickname of “JR”.
Brian joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2023, and is a Physical Education Teacher.
He enjoys watching and coaching football. He cheers for the Denver Broncos, Boston Red Sox and the LA Lakers. Brian loves hibachi food and listens to all types of music.
Brian became a driving instructor to help teach students how to safely navigate the roadway.
Jaclyn N
Driving Instructor
Jacklyn is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors. Jacklyn joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2023 and is currently a High School Chemistry Teacher.
She likes sports, hiking, going to the beach and spending time with her family.
Jaclyn cheers for the Giants, Knicks, Devils and absolutely loves basketball, hockey and football.
Jaclyn became a driving instructor because she enjoys helping others achieve goals especially such an important one like driving.
Mart M
Driving Instructor
Mart is one of Fair Lawn Driving School’s certified instructors. Mart joined Fair Lawn Driving School in 2023 and is currently a medical instructor and college professor.
He loves spending time with his family, playing the drums and traveling.
Mart likes to watch basketball, enjoys Italian food and listens to all types of music.
Mart always had a passion for teaching his family and friends how to drive, he wants new drivers to be safe on the road and feels he could help teach students proper driving techniques.
